Guest Post: Stars and Stripes

Hello, lovelies. Last week, in the spirit of summer and America’s birthday, my boyfriend Brett and I decided to take a last minute road trip to Washington D.C. This was my very first visit to our nation’s capital (I know, surprising) so I was pretty pumped. We had a grand time at the 4th of July festivities, leisurely walking the Mall, and visiting all of the touristy sites. Luckily, the weather was amazing. Sunny and 80 degrees our entire stay. Looking back on our trip and the celebration of our nation’s independence, I am extremely grateful for all of those men and women fighting so that we can enjoy these little spontaneous adventures. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

– Washington Monument – (Sadly it was under construction, but we enjoyed the patriotic spirit of the flags hanging from the cranes.)

– Smithsonian Institute Museum of Natural History – (The kid inside me was loving the animal exhibits.)
